For campers, The Davis Bayou Campground is open for tent and RV camping on a first-come -first-serve basis. There are no swimming beaches in the Davis Bayou Area. There is a cost for using the boat launches and a Mississippi State Saltwater Fishing License is required. The park also features a fishing pier for fishing and a boat launch.

The park also features the Davis Bayou Trail, which takes visitors through a coastal forest and over two local bayous and is approximately two miles long. Colmer Visitor Center is where visitors can view the park oriented film and exhibits, purchase items at the bookstore and on most weekends enjoy a ranger-led program. Visitors can enjoy fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, and picnicking, camping, and ranger-led programs. The Davis Bayou Area is located south of Highway 90 east of downtown Ocean Springs and offers many recreational opportunities.
While most of Gulf Islands National Seashore is located miles offshore, the Mississippi District Headquarters is located in Ocean Springs.
